If there has been one constant theme exemplified in the life narrative of Amir Ekbatani, its that giving up is never an option.

 

Whether it was as an overlooked high school football recruit who took a chance on his dreams and eventually made his way as a two-year starter at UCLA.

 

Or being given a 2% chance of living after a catastrophic auto accident completely derailed his life, resulting in the amputation of his left leg. (Spoiler alert: he made it.)

 

It took him 4 years and over a dozen surgeries to walk again, but once on his feet he never stopped moving, enjoying a very successful career as a fitness trainer in Los Angeles and Worldwide. In fact, you can still workout with him on Apple Fitness Plus.

 

Sometimes you have to wake up to truly live your dream, and that’s where we find Amir now, fully pursuing his passion in music. A self-taught multi-instrumentalist, he pivoted his life in a major way in 2020, going back to college for music production and engineering. (Icon Collective, Berklee College of Music, LAAMP) After three years in creative incubation, he is now ready to express his deepest insights and vulnerabilities, sharing his true story through his music.

 

His sonic interests and preferences create an amalgamation of genres that can be most succinctly described as Indie Dance. Live drums, lush synths, ambient guitars, and powerful vocal melodies highlight his first single, IN MY LANE, set to be released on 12/1/2023.

 

IN MY LANE is a song detailing the aforementioned theme of his life: never giving up. Its an anthem for the dreamers who aren’t afraid to go their own way, despite external and internal pressures. It’s a story about alchemy; on how to transmute pain into gold.  It’s real life: making the tough decisions to follow your own path in a world constantly breadcrumbing you to follow it’s.
